Wellness

Here at the CFEC we understand that being a parent is a 24/7 responsibility.  To be able to enjoy your children you need an occasional opportunity to recharge your batteries, so we offer on-site massage therapy, reflexology, and cranialsacral therapy.  Your body works hard for you, and goes above and beyond the call of duty while parenting young children.  It deserves a rest now and then.  If experts agree that 80 to 90 percent of disease is stress-related then stress-relieving activities are a necessity, not a luxury.  We also recognize that children, even infants, can experience stress and trauma, beginning at birth.  With this in mind, our therapists are also available to work with your children in non-invasive ways that promote health and wellness.  An emotionally healthy family is a happy family.

Pediatric CranioSacral Therapy

Even the most natural of births is stressful for the skull and spine of the baby being born, however this is especially true when the birth has been traumatic, requiring interventions such as forceps, vacuum extraction or caesarean sections.   Because CranioSacral therapy is so gentle it can be performed at birth or within the first few days of life. It’s non-invasive and clothing doesn’t have to be removed. The therapist provides gentle hand contacts, typically on your baby’s head, back and pelvis, to locate areas of tightness or decreased movement and uses very gentle suggestions to help your baby’s body function more effectively. CranioSacral therapy has been found to help with sleep issues, reflux, colic, breast feeding problems, ear infections, irritability, and can relieve areas tension from the birthing process. In older children, conditions that have responded well to Craniosacral Therapy include asthma, autism, behavioral and emotional problems, and hyperactivity.

It is a safe and effective method of preventative health care for your child that you can easily provide! Your baby will receive an Inividualized session with a licensed health care professional. Baby reflexology can help to soothe congestion, colic, reflux, teething and to promote relaxation and boost the immune system. A session typically last 30 – 45 minutes, and includes take home techniques.

A “Me” Moment

Therapeutic Massage

Experts estimate that 80 percent to 90 percent of disease is stress-related. Massage  combat this frightening number by helping us remember what it means to relax. Besides increasing relaxation and decreasing anxiety, massage lowers your blood pressure, increases circulation, helps you to sleep better, reduces fatigue and gives you more energy to handle the typical stressors of parenthood. Massage is a perfect elixir for good health, but it can also provide an integration of body and mind. By producing a meditative state or heightened awareness of living in the present moment, massage can provide emotional and spiritual balance, bringing with it true relaxation and peace.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, non invasive therapy that promotes health and wellness.  We use a light touch to gently encourage the body to release any sort of stress and tension. Using a soft touch, usually no heavier than the weight of a nickel, practitioners can release restrictions in the craniosacral system improving the flow and circulation of cerebrospinal fluid that bathes and nourishes the brain and spinal cord. Overall, CranioSacral Therapy can strengthen your body’s ability to take better care of you!  A wonderful side effect of a treatment is deep relaxation. Your body works hard for you and it deserves a rest now and then.  Imagine going thru life more relaxed…

Raindrop Treatment

A Raindrop Treatment is a fresh, unique approach to bodywork combining the science of aromatherapy, reflexology, & relaxation massage, with an application of pure therapeutic grade essential oils. During a Raindrop Treatment essential oils are very carefully dripped onto specific points on the feet and spine to bring structural and electrical alignment. The effect mimics the fall of raindrops allowing the skin to sense and absorb each oil in the same way it would falling drops of rain. Essential oils have been clinically tested to have antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties.  Many viruses lay dormant along the spine. This technique helps to clear the soft tissue of the spine and promote healthy tissue. It will help align the energy centers of the body and release them if blocked.  Although the entire process takes only an hour to complete, the essential oils will continue to work in the body for up to one week following treatment, with continued re-alignment taking place during this time. Due to the properties of the various essential oils used in the treatment, the Raindrop Technique strengthens the immune system, loosens tight muscles in the back, and relaxes the body and mind. Mmmmmmm…………….

We accomplish this with a combination of cranial sacral therapy, reiki, reflexology, abdominal massage, acupressure and Swedish massage techniques. This powerful massage is considered helpful in many conceptions and is designed to support your body’s natural reproductive processes and rhythms. It is ideal for all women who have the desire to get pregnant.

Among its many benefits, pregnancy massage improves circulation, relieves fatigue, eases digestive problems, helps control blood pressure, reduces stress and tension, and boosts energy levels. We combine the following techniques – deep tissue, abdominal and Swedish massage, reflexology, lymphatic drainage, reiki, acupressure, and stretching as needed, to complete a comforting, healing and relaxing massage. This is a necessity, not a luxury.

It helps to speed a woman’s recovery by restoring muscle tone, enhancing the realigning process of the pelvis, increasing circulation which promotes successful breast feeding, and helps reduce fatigue. New Moms benefit greatly from postpartum massage through their baby’s 6 month. Sleep deprivation, hormonal changes, and postpartum blues can all be reduced through massage.  New Moms need mothered!
