There are many different approaches and beliefs about how to help your baby and toddler sleep better. Hear one parent’s success with the “90 Minute Nap Solution”. She’ll share her own sleeping trials and tribulations, explain how and why the philosophy works, the benefits of napping – a happier, healthier baby with a head start on cognitive development and emotional intelligence, how to implement it at various ages, and how to use it to solve common sleeping challenges and frustrations. Based on the basic human rest and activity cycle (BRAC), which occurs every hour and a half, babies and toddlers should go back down for a nap a mere 90 minutes after waking up—that’s right – 90 minutes! Although it sounds counterintuitive, frequent napping actually helps baby sleep through the night. This Q & A open forum is based on Polly Moore’s book, “The 90-Minute Baby Sleep Program”. Polly is a sleep researcher with a Ph.D. in Neuroscience.

a pregnancy celebration

Giving birth is a key life passage for women. But modern culture has become preoccupied with the arrival of the baby-to-be and has lost touch with birth’s profound impact on the expectant mother. The Blessingway is a mother-centered ceremony that honors a woman as she prepares to transition through pregnancy and birth into motherhood. Presently, our society marks this transition time by having a baby shower. The addition of the Blessingway can “round out” the experience; instead of the focus being solely on the baby, it is on the role of the family, particularly, the mother.

The Blessingway encircles the mother-to-be with love and support from the most important women in her life and is a custom-designed ceremony with a variety of joyful and sacred rituals that honor and pamper the mother-to-be, instilling a sense of power and confidence, encouraging the mother to prepare mentally, emotionally, and spiritually for the work of birthing, opening her to her instinctive abilities.

The CFEC would be honored to host your Blessingway. Please contact our ceremony facilitator, Mindy Mossman at mindyblessing@me.com

Swim Diapers

This adorable swim diaper-and-bathing-suit-in-one has earned the Baby and Toddler Gear Platinum Award for being an eco- and baby-friendly organic product! A PUL innerfabric keeps everything contained. They come in fun prints and have snaps on one side for easy changing. More comfortable, economical, and safe than disposable swim diapers. Ready to use: no insert or diaper needed.

Baby Slings & Carriers

If you’re looking for a Maya Wrap, Moby Wrap, Baby K’Tan, a Mei Tai, or a Kangaroo Pouch come on in and try one on to find the baby sling/carrier that’s right for you and your baby. Stop in to one of our free bi-monthly Tummy to Tummy carrier workshops!

Safe Sippies

Created in response to the growing body of scientific evidence about the dangers of toxic chemicals found in many plastic and aluminum bottles, these dad-invented stainless steel bottles and sippy cups with the added feature of a straw adapter that instantly converts your sippy cup to a straw bottle in seconds. And it’s spill-proof, even when you shake it upside down! Recent research by speech development experts has found that wide drinking spouts, commonly found on typical sippy cups, can cause physical and speech development problems in children. Their findings suggest that straw-shaped spouts are better for developing mouths.

Tummy Tubs

The original Tummy Tub is a unique womb-shaped and sized bath that eases baby’s transition from a familiar, safe place to an unknown world. This alternative to the standard baby bath makes bath time stress-free for babies and parents alike, giving the baby a few minutes each day to enjoy the sensory experiences of in-utero.iv>

Earth Mama Angel Baby

It’s important to realize that so much of what you put on your baby can be absorbed through the body’s largest organ – the skin and straight into the bloodstream. We can rest easy knowing that EMAB’s product line is cruelty-free, certified vegan, and 100% free from toxic ingredients. Combining generations of women’s wisdom and traditional plant medicine with the safety and assurances of contemporary evidence-based research, EMAB formulates pure, natural herbal products that support the entire birth process: pregnancy, labor, postpartum and cesarean recovery, breastfeeding, and baby care.
