Kids. Coffee. Community.
There’s something to the saying, “It takes a village to raise a child."
At the Cincinnati Family Enrichment Center, we encourage a sense of
community for parents and playful learning for children.
The CFEC offers Kid's Classes, Parenting Workshops, and a breastfeeding support group. For freelancing parents, we have a convenient Work & Play program and NEW drop-off childcare. Our two outdoor play spaces include a
welcoming porch, fully fenced front yard and a back deck, so
kids can play in any weather!
We're situated in a beautiful Victorian in Cincinnati's centrally located Northside community. Our cafe features refreshments for both kids and parents, including organic snacks and vegan pastries—not to mention locally roasted artisan coffee!

Choosing a Carrier & Babywearing Gathering
Babies worn in slings are less clingy and tend to initiate separation much earlier than babies less frequently held. The close proximity of the baby enables parents to respond to ‘non-crying’ signals, which results in less frustration and stress, and most of all… less crying – 40 to 50 less compared to unworn babies! This interactive demonstration is followed by a Babywearers International play gathering from 12:15 - 2:00.
This “learning through play” workshop focuses on the critical skills needed for success in the 21st century, like problem solving, collaboration, empathy, creativity, and resiliency. Research will be shared showing why executive function development, which happens in the early childhood years predominantly birth to 5, is critical. Our children need open ended, kid powered learning toys that allow them to be in charge of the play experience. It is in the playing that children learn. Facilitated by Discovery Toys educational consultant, Nancy Tunnat.
Let's focus on all that we have to be thankful for by coming together for a Thankfulness Celebration! Fun age-appropriate activities, crafts, stories & songs led by our much-loved Miss Aimee will be available from 10:00 to 12:00 Saturday, November 19. Please bring a canned good or toiletry item to donate to CAIN.
Don’t even know where to begin? With toilet teaching “programs” claiming your child can be “trained” in as quickly as a day, how do you know what the right “toilet teaching” philosophy is for you?
In the months leading up to the arrival of your baby, it’s easy to become immersed in educating yourself about the actual birth. However, many parents are caught off guard by the realities of the postpartum weeks and can find themselves feeling confused, exhausted, and overwhelmed. This class, led by a postpartum doula and mother of four, helps to demystify this amazing helps to demystify this amazing, yet sometimes worrisome time, so that you can look forward to a fulfilling time of recovery and bonding with your baby.
This breastfeeding class is designed to teach parents the basics of breastfeeding along with ways to avoid many of the typical breastfeeding problems, how to identify baby’s hunger cues, the reasons breastfeeding is so important, why so many “wives’ tales” just aren’t true, and what to do when birth and breastfeeding don’t go according to plan.
Combining positive imagery, hypnosis, affirmations and relaxed breathing, you’ll learn how to eliminate the fear, tension and pain of labor, replacing them with confidence, calm and comfort. Using hypnosis for childbirth is an increasingly popular and effective evidence-based approach to having a baby due to it’s high rate of quick, comfortable, complication-free births.
